Purchased for bikepacking. Definitely smooths out the ride. Others spoke to squeaking which I have not experienced. As usual from Cane Creek, a solid product.

Amazing difference on my Turbo Vado SL 2. I've had some lower back pain and finally decided to try a suspension seat post. I wish I had done this earlier. I am 195 lbs. In addition to the standard elastomer, I purchased the 'soft' version. I think I like that one better despite the recommendation for my weight. The standard one is still pretty stiff. Maybe I just like the extra smoothness and the roads/paths I ride on are not that rough to begin with.

I had to change my saddle which made my ride too hard. So, I decided to change my seat post for a one with a damper. I looked at many options online and found that many are most likely too soft, resulting in a bouncy ride on paved surfaces only due to my pedaling. The eeSilk+ seemed to be in my sweet spot. I’m 210 pounds and ordered the post plus an extra damper which is one step harder than the medium damper that comes with the post as default. In the meantime, I have done a few long rides (5 hours in the saddle at a time) and I concluded that the post with the medium damper is perfect for me. Now my only question is how the post will hold up over time, e.g. if I need to replace the bushings…

I was a little concerned about the limited travel of the eeSilk+ Seat post but, it seems to soak up bumps much larger than its measured travel. At the same time it is capable of all but eliminating the smaller bumps. I don’t notice any bobbing until over about 90rpm but if I concentrate on smoothing out my cadence the limited amount of bobbing is negligible. I will also note that I’m using an eeSilk+ Elastomer one density softer than the guide lines.

With the eeSilk Seat Post and Stem I often don’t realize how bumpy the terrain is until my feet and calfs start rattling…
