The Cane Creek Shock Range, Explained

Shock Comparison

WHO ARE YOU?

Shock Guide
Cane Creek’s shocks are arranged along a spectrum of lightweight performance to maximum downhill capability.

You can think of the breakdown as a sliding scale of how much you value climbing vs. descending.

IL shocks are the smallest and lightest offering. These shocks are made to fit short travel (Downcountry & Trail) bikes and are a great choice if you want to expand the downhill chops or open up the suspension tuning possibilities of your lightweight and efficient bike.

Tigon is the middle child and ultimate goldilocks shock. It combines what's good about air and coil shocks and is designed to expand what you can accomplish with trail and enduro bikes.

Lastly, Kitsuma is our most gravity-focused shock that's primarily designed for going down hill FAST. It's the heaviest shock in the lineup, but has the most oil volume in the damper giving it crazy control and power to stand up to the longest, fastest, and roughest of descents.

SUSPENSION THE WAY YOU WANT IT.

Usually, shocks that come stock on bikes are internally tuned by the manufacturer to accommodate their preferences and their idea of the "average" rider that will use the bike. With a Cane Creek shock, you have the ability to dial in exactly how it feels. You will not be limited by a prescribed tune that was chosen by someone else - for someone else.

All Cane Creek shocks use a twin tube damper that flows a higher volume of oil in a fully circulating path through external adjusters. This circulation gives you the ability to access wide-ranging damper settings without the need for internal valving changes. It increases the tunability of the shock, allowing you to have better success setting up your shock for your bike and your specific manner of riding. The increased oil volume and twin tube circulation also helps our shocks remain consistently sensitive over the course of a long and demanding descent.

Shock Mono-Tube VS Twin Tube

4-Way Independant Adjustment

Don't ride someone else's setup - dial in what works for you

Our shocks' twin tube design offers unrestricted range of tuning that goes beyond the boundaries of what stock shocks allow you to achieve. Each adjuster independently controls each phase of damping without crossover effects. Adjustments that would require a traditional shock to be internally re-valved can be performed on the trail - allowing you to custom tune your own shock right out of the box. It's the difference between having free will, and having your shock tune dictated to you by someone else who doesn't know how you ride.

Suspension is personal - and Cane Creek shocks allow you to make it that way.

FAQ

Our top questions about shocks...

What's my shock size?

Show details Collapse

Shock sizes are described by two relevant dimensions, eye-to-eye length and stroke.

The eye-to-eye is the distance between the center of the two mounting points at the ends of the shock. The stroke refers to the actual travel amount, or how much the shock compresses.

The shock size for your bike is most likely listed in the spec list on the manufacturer's website.

What is shock hardware?

Show details Collapse

Shock hardware refers to the small axles and spacers that are needed to make the standardized eyelets on rear shocks fit into the mounting points on your frame. The width of these mounting points and the shock mounting bolts themselves vary from frame to frame.

To find your exact shock hardware dimensions, you can look it up in the spec list on your bike manufacturer's site, or measure it yourself following the instructions here.
