Qualified riders can now put pre-tax health savings toward suspension, seatposts, headsets and other components at canecreek.com
FLETCHER, N.C., October 9, 2026 — Cane Creek Cycling Components today announced a partnership with Truemed that lets qualified customers pay for eligible components with pre-tax dollars from a Health Savings Account or Flexible Spending Account. The option is live now at canecreek.com.
Truemed is a telehealth and payments company that lets Americans use HSA and FSA funds on preventive health purchases. Bicycle riding can be one of them. When an independent licensed practitioner determines that cycling helps treat or prevent a medical condition, they issue a Letter of Medical Necessity, and the components that help keep a rider on the bike may qualify for pre-tax dollars. Qualified customers save about 30% on average.*
For riders who already set money aside for health expenses every year, the partnership opens a use for those funds that has not been available to them before.
How it works
The Truemed option appears at checkout on canecreek.com. There are three steps:
- Add your parts. Put components that may qualify in your cart, then select Truemed at checkout.
- Complete a health survey. An independent licensed practitioner reviews it. Cane Creek never sees a customer's health information.
- Pay pre-tax. Qualifying customers receive a Letter of Medical Necessity and can pay with an HSA or FSA card, or pay with a personal card and submit for reimbursement.
What may qualify
Components that may qualify include seatposts, stems, forks, shocks, cranks, headsets, brakes, bottom brackets and springs. That covers much of the Cane Creek catalog, including the Thudbuster and eeSilk+ suspension seatposts, Kitsuma and Tigon rear shocks, and eeWings cranks.
Apparel, tools, accessories and most small replacement parts, including elastomers and bearings, are not eligible. Eligibility may vary by product.
The option is available to United States customers only. Processing fees and sales tax are not HSA/FSA eligible, and the option does not apply to warranty or crash replacement orders.
Riders who prefer not to use Truemed can check out the usual way. Full details, including a breakdown of what qualifies and what does not, are at canecreek.com/pages/hsa-fsa.
