Yes, to use eeWings Mountain with any Shimano 12 spd mtb drivetrain, simply use one of our Cane Creek chainrings. These rings have a tooth profile that fits 12spd Shimano chains.

eeWings All-Road can be mounted on any modern road bike bottom bracket standard. The cranks use a 30mm spindle, so you just need to make sure the bottom bracket that corresponds with your frame is for 30mm spindle. We make Cane Creek bottom brackets that allow eeWings All-Road to be fitted to the following: 68mm threaded (BSA & T47 external), 86.5mm threaded (T47internal), 68mm press-fit (BB30 & PF30), and 86.5mm press-fit (PF41).

eeWings Mountain are compatible with 73mm and 92mm threaded shells, and 73mm, 89.5mm, and 92mm press-fit shells. This means the cranks are compatible with most mountain bikes, except for Downhill and Fatbikes. The cranks use a 30mm spindle, so you just need to make sure the bottom bracket that corresponds with your frame is for 30mm spindle. We make Cane Creek bottom brackets to allow the cranks to be fitted to most applications: BSA, T47, PF41, BB30 & PF30.

eeWings All-Road have a Q-factor of 160mm. eeWings Mountain have a Q-factor of 176mm.

Not very much! The only difference is the spindle width. The mountain cranks use a roughly 5mm wider spindle to accomodate for the wider bottom bracket shells used on mountain bikes. The arms, materials, and construction of the cranks are otherwise identical.

Yes, eeWings All-Road cranks use the 8-bolt direct mount interface, popularized by modern SRAM cranksets. Any 8-bolt spiders or power meters can be used with eeWings. We also produce our own spiders that allow eeWings to be used with Shimano Ultegra, Dura-Ace, and GRX chainrings.

eeWings do not require the use of pedal washers. Washers may be used if so desired for bike fit purposes, but remeber that the Q-factor on eeWings is already wider than most competitor cranks so the use of washers is likely not necessary.

The eeWings arms are Grade 9 Ti-3AI-2.5V titanium because this particular ti alloy is best for making drawn and formed tubes. The hirth joint/chain ring interface, spindle, pedal inserts, and preloader screw are Grade 5 Ti-6AI-4V titanium, as this alloy is better for machined parts. The main fixing bolt is 17-4 stainless steel. The required 1.75mm spindle spacer, and preload assembly (thread ring and spacer ring) are made of 7075 aluminum.

The 165mm All-Road cranks weight 398 grams. This includes all items included in the assembly (arms, spindle, fastening bolt/washer, chainring bolts, spindle spacer, preload assembly).

Since all current 8-bolt eeWings use stainless steel hardware (fixing bolt and chainring bolts) anti-seize is NOT necessary in most applications. It is recommended to use blue loctite on the main fixing bolt and standard assembly grease on the chainring bolts and pedal threads. The only scenario where anti-seize is needed is when using pedals with titanium spindles.

Yes, the Cane Creek Crank Preloader is compatible with all SRAM DUB cranks, as well as any other crank that uses a 30mm spindle, such as those made by Easton or Raceface.

Yes! eeWings are compatible with both internal and external style T47 bottom brackets 

First you must ensure that the bottom bracket bearing size is compatible with your crank’s spindle diameter. If you have eeWings, then any of our 30mm bottom brackets will work with the 30mm spindle of the eeWings crank. If you have a SRAM DUB crank, then any of our 29mm (DUB) bottom brackets will work with the 29mm spindle DUB cranks. For shimano cranks, choose the 24mm option.

First generation eeWings (2018 - 2025) use SRAM 3-bolt direct mount interace. There are many brands that make chainrings using this mounting configuration. All second generation eeWings (2025-2026) use the more contemporary SRAM 8-bolt direct mount interface. Cane Creek produces our own chainring for the 8-bolt crank. These chainrings are designed to work with nearly all modern 12 and 13spd speed drivetrains. In most cases, eeWings fit on bikes that use Superboost (157x12mm) rear hub spacing. eeWings use a spindle length that accommodates most modern applications, including Superboost. It is often required to use a 0mm offset chainring for this application.

No. Though eeWings would be stiff enough and strong enough for DH use, the spindle is not long enough to fit through the wider bottom bracket shells (83mm threaded) used on most downhill bikes. If your DH bike uses a 73mm threaded or 92mm press-fit BB shell, then eeWings ARE compatible.
