Why Cane Creek Supports Dirt Skrrts

At Cane Creek, we believe that bicycles have the power to build confidence, create community, and make the outdoors more accessible to everyone. That's why we have proudly supported Blue Ridge Dirt Skrrts since their inception in 2021.

Dirt Skrrts has become an important force in growing and strengthening the local mountain biking community by encouraging women of all experience levels to get out and ride. Through educational programming, skills clinics, group rides, and social events, the organization has created a welcoming environment where women can develop new skills, build lasting friendships, and gain the confidence to explore trails they may never have considered riding before.

The impact has been remarkable. Since its earliest rides, Dirt Skrrts has introduced and connected more than 1,200 women through rides, clinics, and community activities. Just as importantly, their efforts have helped foster a more diverse and inclusive cycling culture throughout Western North Carolina. Anyone who spends time on local trails can see the difference—more women are riding, leading rides, mentoring new riders, and becoming active participants in the region's cycling community.

As a company whose products are designed to enhance the riding experience, Cane Creek sees a natural alignment with Dirt Skrrts' mission. Supporting organizations that remove barriers to participation and help riders gain confidence ultimately strengthens the entire cycling ecosystem. When more people discover the joy of riding, our trails, clubs, events, and cycling businesses all benefit.

One of our favorite annual collaborations is the Dirt Skrrts Test & Tune event. On June 6, Cane Creek staff once again worked directly with participants in a hands-on suspension setup session. Riders were paired with a Cane Creek team member who helped them dial in their suspension settings, understand how their equipment works, and learned how small adjustments can significantly improve comfort, control, and confidence on the trail.

The event is about much more than suspension tuning. It reflects the shared values of both organizations: education, empowerment, and creating positive experiences on bikes. We are honored to continue supporting Dirt Skrrts and look forward to helping even more women discover the fun, friendship, and freedom that come from riding together.
