    Wide range of adjustment

The shock has been fantastic and feels great on the bike. It was a little tricky to dial in because of the super wide range of adjustment, but after doing some bracketing it is feeling great. A good starting point I found was to start with the following:

    HSC: Open

    LSC: Closed

    HSR: Closed

    LSR: 2 clicks from Open

This provides a decent baseline where you'll most certainly want to make adjustments, but it really allows you to to feel the changes you're making and feel when you've gone too far. After running the shock for a while and making adjustments I've landed on the following:

    HSC: 3

    LSC: 4

    HSR: 8

    LSR: 1

    Rider weight: 190lbs

    Coil weight: 500lbs/in

    Bike: Knolly Chilcotin 170

Probably the best coil shock in the world

My first impressions out of the box were very positive, apart from a bit of grease that had leaked from the clickers. This isn’t an issue at all – they’re simply well-lubricated to move freely. I just mention it so no one gets surprised or thinks the shock is leaking oil.

The build quality is excellent – I have absolutely no complaints. The only downside for me were the stock bushings that come pre-assembled on the shock. I’m not a fan of them, so I swapped them for Fox hardware, which noticeably reduced friction during compression.

As for the adjustments – they work perfectly. The LSC and LSR are super responsive; just two clicks make a significant difference. The HSC and HSR really shine when things get aggressive, and again, the shock’s performance is outstanding.

The Climb Switch is something I really wanted for my frame (which fits a 250x75 shock). In the DH segment you rarely see this feature, so that’s a huge plus of the Kitsuma Coil Gen2. And it’s not just three positions – it’s practically infinite from fully open to fully closed. In the closed setting it feels like a hardtail, while the Firm mode is perfect for climbing on rough terrain (or however you like to use it).

I ride a carbon Canyon Torque, and with this shock the bike’s behavior has completely transformed – it feels incredible again. Huge thanks to Cane Creek for the time and effort they put into developing such an awesome shock.

Kitsuma is our most gravity-focused shock that's primarily designed for going down hill FAST. It has the most oil volume in the damper giving it crazy control and power to stand up to the longest, fastest, and roughest of descents. It hugs the ground, giving you maximum grip and the most planted feel of any of our shocks.

  • Our most downhill-oriented shock.
  • 4-way damping adjustment, entirely tunable by hand, makes dialing in your damper settings faster and easier. No tools - no counting clicks.
  • Coil spring offers the best grip, heat management, suspension sensitivity, and planted feel.
  • For long travel Enduro and DH bikes that prioritize descending.

SETUP MADE EASY

Tired of getting bucked over the bars, or feeling your rear wheel skitter and break traction when the trail gets rough? Getting the best out of any shock requires a decent amount of tuning, and the second generation Kitsuma makes that tuning easier and more immediate with the aid of updated dials on all 4 damper adjustments. Each dial now offers a large range of adjustment contained in a single 360* turn with marks that denote each position of the adjuster. Reading your shock settings is now as easy as reading the hands on a clock.

No hunting for tools, and no ‘counting clicks’ to see where you are.

Less time tuning – more time riding.

CLIMB SWITCH

OPEN, CLIMB, LOCK

Our patented Climb Switch technology controls both compression and rebound movement at the same time, effectively eliminating pedal bob. It shores up the shock from both “ends”, instead of just one – but still leaves just enough freedom for the shock to move over significant bumps in the trail. This means that you’ll feel supported and efficient, while still having access to crucial traction when you need it.

The Kitsuma Climb Switch has an additional position that locks out the shock entirely for long, self-shuttled climbing days or paved rides to the trail head. It’s the best-pedaling gravity shock out there.
