All-Speed Damping The Double Barrel is designed for superior damping control and offers the broadest adjustment range available in bicycling rear suspension. The ultimate performance edge:
- Unparalleled trail contact during impacts and recovery.
- Unparalleled ability to control suspension compression and rebound inputs at all speeds and conditions.
All-Speed Damping is achieved through proprietary technologies unique to Cane Creek and Öhlins Racing: Twin Tube Technology and 4-Way Independent Adjustment.
Twin Tube Technology Twin Tube technology circulates oil continuously through the valving to achieve highly controllable, independent damping for both compression and rebound strokes. This unique valving has a significant effect due to the fact it is continuously acting on the oil pumped through the circulating system.
On the trail, that translates into a performance edge you can feel with increased control and stability. As your control and stability increase, so does your speed.
4-Way Independent Adjustment
The Double Barrel features four rider-adjustable valves:
Two Low-speed bleed valves: One valve controls low-speed compression, to modulate small-bump sensitivity and pedal-platform stability. The other controls low-speed rebound, to dampen stutter-bump (high-frequency) sensitivity.
Two High-speed poppet valves: One valve controls high-speed compression, to absorb initial impacts from big hits. The other controls high-speed rebound forces, such as during big-hit recovery, to prevent pogoing.
There is also a separate adjuster for spring preload. Each adjustment does one thing only, so there’s no crossover effect. The Double Barrel delivers immediate feedback, immediate adjustment using common hand tools. Fast. Easy. Intuitive.
