Are you sure you aren't .25 from 0 on the HSR? If your shock was set this way it should rebound EXTREMELY slow.

thanks guys mistake corrected.yes it does pop quickly.

Sounds like you've got it pretty dialed. I would suggest adding at least a half turn of HSR as your current setup should be rebounding really fast.

thanks i'll give it a go and let you know.

Are those settings good for both coil and air DB ?

January 24, 2013 4:20pm by CaneCreekCyclingComponents

Good question vincent66. Compression and rebound settings will vary slightly between coil and air.

January 24, 2013 4:25pm by vincent66

But would you consider thoses settings as "good" starting points ?

January 24, 2013 4:31pm by CaneCreekCyclingComponents

For the most part yes. You might want to run a little less LSC and a little more LSR to adjust for the air spring curve but otherwise it is still a good starting point.

Thanks!

You're welcomme ! Thanks to you guys !

Hello guys !

After trying those settings, the shock feels better, but still harsh in some rocky sections. Sometimes the rear wheel even get stuck between 2 rocks ; the bike looses a lot of speed. I almost did an OTB yesterday !

I tried to open the HSC, but that doesn't help a lot.

Also, it looks impossible to bottom out the shock. Even with 30% sag. Shall I try 40% sag ? Thanks.

Vincent66,

Lets verify that you are on the correct spring rate first. What is your weight and spring rate? It sounds like HSR might still be a little slow. If the shock cannot rebound quickly enough, the rear end cannot recover from successive hits causing the shock to "pack up" or get stuck stuck, as you noted, between trail features. The harshness and loss of speed is also a sign of too much HSR. If you have any additional questions, please email us at info@canecreek.com or call at 1-800-234-2725.

Thanks

Thank you so much for the quick answer.

[...] "the shock to "pack up" or get stuck stuck, as you noted, between trail features. The harshness and loss of speed"[...]

That's exactly what it does !

My weight is 87kg with backpack, knee guards, helmet, ...
The current pressure is 160 psi.

I set the shock as proposed on this page.
And after a while I opened a little bit more the HSR and HSC (now fully open).

hi guy's,i'm working on making my bike lighter.new carbon bars/and new stem.xxi drive train ect.Thinking of ti spring?could you please tell me if a ti spring would require me to re-tune my shock settings, what do you think of ti springs?thank's gagoli..

March 28, 2013 9:05am by CaneCreekCyclingComponents

Gagoli1,

Good question. Spring rate is spring rate so if you find a ti spring with the same rate as a steel, your adjustments should stay the same. Ti springs are a great place to same some weight on your ride. They are just a little pricey!

Thanks!
