Aiming to raise awareness about childhood obesity and heart disease, cyclist Chris Figureida is preparing to embark on a 4,200 mile bicycle trip across the United States this September.

The trip will be Figureida's second such ride: in 2007 he completed a similar feat, garnering media attention to his cause, by riding across the country on a route from Ventura, California to Lubec, Maine. His 2008 route will cross the country diagonally from northwest Washington state to southernmost Florida.
