All Speed Damping Print E-mail
herndon_2007_jul_28.jpgCane Creek's Double Barrel is designed for superior damping control and offers the broadest adjustment range available in cycling rear suspension.

All-Speed Damping delivers the ultimate performance edge:

  • Unparalleled trail contact during impacts and recovery.
  • Unparalleled ability to control suspension compression and rebound inputs at all speeds and conditions.
  • Delivered by proprietary technologies unique to Cane Creek & Öhlins Racing.

Nothing else comes close.

All-Speed Damping is possible only through analysis and control of impact dynamics. And in impact dynamics, two variables are key: low speed inputs and high speed inputs.
  • Low speed inputs come from slow undulations on the trail or movement of the frame caused by pedaling forces.
  • High speed inputs are a result of bigger impacts such as dropping off a ledge or hitting a bump fast and hard.

09_hi_spd_damping.jpg First, a shock has to be able to absorb the energy of both types of inputs. Second, it has to be able to manage the rebound energy stored in the spring. It sounds simple enough, but it’s not.

To meet this engineering challenge, Ohlins developed its breakthrough Twin Tube Technology, used only in its premier motorsports shocks and the Cane Creek Double Barrel.
