Track racing coming to Interbike |
|
An international track racing event is being planned for six days this September in Las Vegas, to coincide with Interbike, according to a report by VeloNews . Former U.S. Olympian Jack Simes III has booked the Mandalay Resort arena for track racing events starting Sept. 23. VeloNews reports that "planned events include Madison races, sprints, one-lap record attempts and motor-paced Derny races."

NAHBS Best of Show features Cane Creek 110 Reserve headset |

The bicycle awarded "Best of Show", "President's Choice" and "People's Choice" awards featured a Cane Creek 110 Reserve headset as its crowning touch. The custom, handbuilt bike, built by Sam Whittingham of Naked Bicycles of British Columbia, reinterprets the polished steel and hardwood found on racing bikes from the early 20th century, making it a natural fit for the 110 Reserve.

NAHBS Spotlights Cane Creek |

Cane Creek components generated a lot of buzz at the 2008 North American Handbuilt Bicycle Show. For many attendees, the show was their first chance to see the full line of new Cane Creek track wheels, as well as the 110 and Maple headsets.
But one new product stole the limelight: the Cane Creek 110 Reserve headset, which features precision-machined titanium inlaid with maple or mahogany.

Astana to Race in Giro d'Italia |

Team Astana has been invited to compete in the 2008 Giro d'Italia, the first of this year's Grand Tour races. In granting the invitation, race organizer RCS reversed its original February decision. The Giro begins on May 10. Team Astana's General Manager Johan Bruyneel accepted the invitation, saying, "I would like to thank RCS for reconsidering our Team in the selection process. RCS has recognized that not inviting one of the best stage racing teams would have been a mistake and detrimental to the race and sport of cycling." The Cane Creek 110 headset is standard issue for Team Astana. |
